What to do when your granola bars refuse to work? Mould them into ‘energy balls’. I’ve refrained from calling them ‘energy balls’ because I’m not a scientist, but I have seen these elsewhere with protein powder and all that gumpf in. These have none of that stuff, just simple and natural ingredients. 

1) in a bowl combine 1 cup oats, 1 handful of chopped mixed nuts, 2 heaped teaspoons of Greek yoghurt, 1 small bag of dried cranberries.

2) heat 2 tablespoons of honey in a pan on the hob. Once melted add to the mixture.

(I first put the mixture flat on a tray but they came out the freezer falling apart soooo…)

3) form into balls and pop in the freezer for 15 mins.

I found that squishing the mixture into balls made it hold together much better. I’ve packed 2 for a snack this afternoon before hockey training.
