Thanks to GBBO finalist Richard Burr for the inspiration; I’ve been craving toad since he posted a scrumptious pic on his blog. Anyway here’s my attempt, with beef sausages cuz my other half doesn’t eat pork.

1)  cook sausages in the oven with a good glug of oil.

2) whisk up a batter mix of 1 cup flour, 1 cup milk, 1 egg. Add a grind of black pepper, and dried herbs – I used sage and thyme.

3) ensure sausages are cooked and pour over the batter mixture, it’ll sizzle a bit. Cook in the oven for 20 mins til golden brown (on about 200 degrees c).

I also made stuffing balls (paxo, yes I’m a cheater), and boiled/steamed veg: cauliflower, green beans and carrots.
